Since I was a small child, I’ve always been fascinated by the ‘what could be’ element of interior design. From an early age, and regardless of where I was (on an airplane, in a restaurant, in someone’s home), I came to realize I was constantly re-designing the spaces in my head. From changing the color palette, to reupholstering the furniture, to rearranging the entire room, my right brain was in constant overdrive – and yet I never told anyone what was happening within my mind so as not to offend them in their own home. Some call it a blessing, sometimes I call it a curse! I cannot not design as I’m always striving to make spaces better.
These Before (above) and After (below) pictures illustrate why I design … when this couple asked me if there was anything I could do with their living room, in my head I saw it all done in a flash and gave them a resounding YES! Two months later their once-bland living room was transformed into an inviting and warm space that they now truly love. They look forward to being home, as they feel they can now truly exhale and relax – and as a result, their lives have improved. That is why I design.
